Congratulations!

Hey there Readers!
I don’t blame you if you never want to read my blog again, considering how long it’s been since I last posted. I’ve thought really hard about what to use as my excuse, and I think I’ll go with alien abduction. Yes, here’s my official statement: On December 30, one day after I posted my most recent post, I was sitting in a lawn chair in the backyard when a circle of strange blue light surrounded me. The next thing I knew, I was floating towards the sky and encapsulated in a large case that resembled a test tube. I saw the aliens for a few moments before I blacked out. Three weeks later, I found myself in my dorm room like nothing had ever happened.
Don’t believe me? Yeah, I wouldn’t either.
Basically, I don’t have a good excuse. (Though I do think I should get creativity points for the alien story …) I am REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY sorry, though. That amount of “reallys” should make up for it.
Anyway, let’s kick off this second semester of blogging with some congratulations! The ALA just released their list of the 2010 Best Books for Young Adults at their Midwinter Meeting. We have many a TBF author featured on the list! Some of these authors are coming to this year’s TBF and some are alum … but we’ll mention them all!
Congratulations …
Laurie Halse Anderson (2006, 2010) for "Wintergirls"
Libba Bray (2008) for "Going Bovine"
Jenny Han (2009) for "The Summer I Turned Pretty"
A. S. King (2010) for "The Dust of 100 Dogs"
Matt de la Pena (2009, 2010) for "We Were Here"
Sara Zarr (2009) for "Once Was Lost"
I’ll just go ahead and speak for teen readers as a population (I’m taking all sorts of liberties tonight!) and say we LOVE your books and we’re glad the ALA does, too!
Well readers, on that note, I’m off!
I’ll post again soon. (No, really, I will. I swear. Yeah … I wouldn’t believe me either.)
